Two brands of South Korea-made mascara have been found to be tainted with bacteria. The products are said to contain 155 times the permitted level according to reports from
Hong Kong. The sale of the mascara which is available on the Internet has been banned in
Taiwan. The problem mascara are Rainbow Volume & Curling Mascara and Cosline Croan Eyelash Mascara.
Medical authorities warned that women should be careful when buying mascara as damage to the eyes can lead to blindness. As a matter of fact Taiwanese medical officials have already reported seeing patients with damaged corneas resulting from tainted mascara.
