Approximately twenty-four teenage girls dressed in their prom dresses and supporters lobbied cosmetic manufacturers in the
US to stop using potentially harmful chemicals in makeup. The girls and their supporters were in the
San Francisco shopping district on Tuesday, April 24; they also used the opportunity to
launch a new line of personal care products called “i”. The line is created by teens for teens; the first product is a perfume, called “i”. The perfume is being sold by natural-cosmetic company, Corte Madera, although it will shortly be available online at Whole Foods.
The group contends that the
USA has so far banned a total of nine carcinogenic ingredients used in personal care products to a total of
1,100 in
Europe.
