The FDA (Federal Drug Administration) has approved the first drug-free hair device said to aid in regrowing hair. The Hairmax LaserComb, a product of Lexington International, LLC uses laser technology to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles to promote growth. The Hairmax according to published reports not only helps to regrow hair, but also increases fullness of thinning hair.

The Hairmax is a handheld device, the size of a regular curling iron and is designed to be used at home. The comb should be used three times per week for between 10 and 15 minutes each time. The company’s website states that positive results were seen by 45% of users within 8 weeks of using the Hairmax. According to reports it can be used by both sexes.
