The Name Matters in Male Grooming

Updated Jul 2, 2012

The male grooming sector of the beauty market is helping cosmetics companies to rebound. Published data suggests that it is the most rapidly growing portion of the market currently. One thing cosmetics companies have learned however is that they have to be highly selective in the way these beauty products are packaged.

According to online reports, male consumers do not like the ‘beauty products’ label. In fact, cosmetics companies try to design packaging that reflects a masculine tone. This includes packaging that resembles cigar boxes or containers that are shaped like liquor bottles.

Procter & Gamble spokesman Damn Jones spoke of the trend in an interview saying, “It`s become more socially acceptable for men to put effort into looking and feeling good.” This data also heavily influences the names given to male grooming products reports claim.
