After the final count on plastic surgery procedures done worldwide, the USA holds the top position with 17.5 percent. Information published online from the first ever global statistics on plastic surgery procedures showed the top five countries where procedures are most popular as:

1. USA

2. Brazil

3. China

4. India

5. Mexico

The study conducted by The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) looked at surgery in 25 countries where plastic surgery demand is high. The most popular procedures were breast augmentation, rhinoplasty (nose job), eyelid surgery and liposuction.

As can be expected females led the field in the number of procedures done with 91 percent. According to ISAPS President, Foad Nahai, "Countries like China and India with emerging economies are generating a lot of wealth and as that wealth is passed around, people are choosing to spend their discretionary income on aesthetic procedures.``
