In a move to bolster falling domestic sales, the US cosmetic players are honing in on markets overseas, especially in Asia. The prime markets being targeted by these US companies are India and the Philippines. Reports on a major cosmetics news site indicate that Cosmederm Technologies and Usana, two US-based companies, are marketing their products in India. Cosmedern already has a deal which will see their products on shelves in India.
Utah-based Usana will be moving to get a foothold in the Philippines. Usana will be focusing on a range of hair care and skincare products meant to rejuvenate. Cosmeticdesign-Europe reports that Usana hopes to turn the company into one of the ‘top 25 direct sales markets in the world’.
