Her reign may have ended more than a century ago, but Britain’s Queen Victoria is still in the hearts and minds of many. The most recent film made about her has received an Academy Award nomination for Best Makeup according to published reports. The film stars Emily Blunt in the title role.

The film chronicles the early years of Victoria’s rule. It will go up against Star Trek and Il Divo for the Oscar. Not surprisingly it was also nominated for Best Costume Design. While she was not nominated for Best Actress, Blunt has won raves for her portrayal of Britain’s Longest reigning Monarch.
