It seems that moisturizers in cream form have much better results than those used as a serum. Researchers from Belgium-based University Hospital of Liege published a study in March’s issue of the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, which reveals that creams do a better job of giving long-term moisturizing benefits than serums. According to the researchers, serums offer immediate moisturizing as well as firming benefits but the effects does not last.
The long-term effects of the creams were especially obvious the researchers said in regards to hydration. They believe that this happened because creams include hydrophobic compounds which slow water evaporation from the skin.
