A recent MP inquiry in the UK has unearthed some startling information on body image in that country. According to online reports, it was found that even five year old girls are now concerned with the way their bodies look. The report titled Reflections on Body Image was co-authored by British MPs.
The study puts the blame on marketing techniques. It was also suggested that children were responding to the way their own parents feel about their bodies. The report was published on the basis of an inquiry that lasted for three months. It suggested that the issue of poor body image was linked to poor performance in school.
