Wrinkles Get the Shock Treatment

Updated Aug 22, 2010

The beauty industry now has another buzz word to toss around; bio-electricity. In fact new creams that use the technology are making headlines. Published reports states that the technology works by using an electrical current to stimulate collagen production and tighten facial muscles.

Johnson & Johnson, through its skincare companies Neutrogena and RoC seems to be leading the charge. The technology is called E-Pulse Skin Electro-Stimulation Technology.

While the companies make big claims about their products, like any other beauty foray there are those who doubt their effectiveness. One dermatologist, Russell Emerson was quoted as saying, “… I don`t think a topical cream can work at cellular level in the way these companies claim.”
