Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder by Bumble and Bumble
Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder
Price: $19

Of course, the moment you see it, you’ll be intrigued enough to try Bumble and Bumble’s Hair Powder. Intrigued but yet wary. It’s a dry shampoo; it’s a root cover; it provides temporary color; and it makes hair appear thicker! Who doesn’t want to cover unsightly roots, have their hair look thicker, and go an extra day without shampooing? The red color spray is a bit messy, leaving small spots on clothing, so apply it before you get dressed. The red appears as a “poster paint” color, leaving residue on the scalp. If your hair is a bright shade, the red Bumble and Bumble’s hair powder might work well for you. Combing your hair will lessen the effect. The brown tint is more subtle and really works to cover roots. If you can get a good color match, you can delay getting a touch-up.

Using powder on hair is an age-old method of coloring or cleansing hair and roots. Powder absorbs oils and leaves your hair feeling more voluminous. This product works less well as a dry shampoo and it tends to dry out that portion of hair that has been sprayed. Using a spray-on colored powder to dry shampoo your hair might not work well for all.

Bumble is easy to use and the spray dries quickly. It is supposed to disguise thinning hair but it was noticeable on my scalp at the part line. The powders come in five colors: black, blondish, brown, white, and red.

The bottom line: For a quick touch-up, some colors work well.
