Chrome Legend, the new men`s fragrance by Azzaro, is an icy and bracing aquatic. The packaging is silver and blue metallic, so you know that the scent will follow suit. If you are expecting something genius along the lines of Bond No. 9`s Andy Warhol Silver Clouds, be ready for a let-down.
What a disappointment!
The problem is that Chrome Legend just stays icy and aquatic. The top notes of apple, tea, and bitter orange are too subtle to meld fully with an annoyingly high-strung note of sea spray. The sea spray is so overbearing that Chrome Legend seems ordinary, like old and inexpensive aftershave.
Speaking of old, isn`t the sea spray trend over?
The sea spray entirely consumes Azzaro`s Chrome Legend. Azzaro threw in some moss, musk, cedar, tonka, vetiver, and amber, but not even these excellent basenotes can warm this concoction up.
The bottom line: Chrome? Yes. Legend? No.
