| A film technique made popular in the 1960s, shot nighttime scenes during the daylight for a sharper image. What was referred to as “Day for Night” could aptly be the name of Sophyto’s Day Face Moisturizer. It’s good during the day, yet somehow, this fine moisturizer seems more apropos for nighttime use. From first application, you’ll notice certain characteristics. It is thick as it goes on just like most night creams. While Sophyto absorbs fairly well, it seems like it doesn’t absorb completely, thus causing difficulty when apply make-up. It feels thick and cakey. Be prepared to use a “feathering technique” when applying foundation and blush to get that sharper image. Use sparingly to avoid that mask-like feeling when you apply a foundation over it.
This moisturizer provides levels of organically derived essential fatty acids and mega omegas (omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9) that contain vitamins, powerful antioxidants and minerals for rich, active moisturization. Sophyto Day Moisturizer is 90% organic.
Although it does not say so on the box, the web site explains that this is a "corrective" moisturizer, to reduce the appearance of fine lines. It is also touted as beneficial for inflamed or sensitive skin, especially following procedures such as dermabrasion or chemical peels. While Sophyto is all right as a corrective moisturizer, the huge downfall of this product is there is not a SPF factor. This is a must for daytime moisturizers. This product, like many, recommends a High Potency Concentrate in addition to the Day Cream. Most people like one-stop shopping - one cream with everything in it.
The bottom line: Sophyto Day Moisturizer works well during the day but might just be better at night.
